An Economics and Personal Finance Resource Center for Teachers
As the local Council on Economic Education contact for K-12 teachers, Old Dominion University's Center for Economic Education is an integral part of the national effort dedicated to improving economic literacy and promoting a greater understanding of the free enterprise system.
The Center operates as an arm of the College of Business and Public Administration, furthering the college's "strong commitment to academic quality and to close interaction and mutually supportive relationships with the community". Through credit classes, workshops and consultations, this Center has enhanced the level of economic awareness and economic literacy throughout all of southeastern Virginia.
Instructional programs in a variety of formats: after-school workshops, all-day workshops, and graduate credit courses
Assistance in curriculum development and the distribution of effective materials in economic education to help with the implementation of the Virginia Standards of Learning.
Awards for southeastern Virginia area teachers and contests for students.
A library of economic educational materials located at ODU and available on loan
